About the Role
As a Data Scientist, you will play a crucial role in leveraging data to derive actionable insights and champion data-driven decision making.
You will work closely with a variety of business stakeholders to unlock high value use cases through the implementation of industry best-practice design and development of technical solutions. You will participate in every step of the project lifecycle from discovery and prioritisation of use-cases, the rapid development of proof-of-concepts, the deployment of tried and tested AI/ML solutions, and the refinement and ongoing tuning of productionised solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Work closely with business analysts and divisional stakeholders to understand business requirements and deliver fit-for-purpose AI/ML solutions.
Undertake data preparation for analysis, including feature engineering, data cleaning, and preprocessing to ensure quality and suitability.
Analyse large datasets to extract meaningful patterns, trends, and actionable insights.
Build and maintain predictive models to solve high-value business problems.
Collaborate with data engineers to design and maintain AI/ML Ops data pipelines.
Rigorous testing and validation of technical solutions to ensure accuracy.
Masterful communication of complex technical concepts to a business audience, including the generation of captivating visualisations and reports to tell data-driven stories.
Using industry best practice to integrate AI/ML technical use-cases into the existing cloud data platform environment.
Apply industry best practice to the design of technical solutions for a given value-driven business problem.
Supporting discovery and prioritisation of AI/ML use-cases across the business.
About you
Master’s or Ph.D. in a quantitative field such as computer science, mathematics, engineering, or a related discipline.
5+ years of proven commercial data science experience in a professional context.
Relevant industry experience (i.e., consumer packaged goods, agriculture, FMCG, manufacturing).
Strong background in statistical analysis, machine learning, and the AI/ML project lifecycle (problem identification, data preparation, model selection and tuning, validation, and deployment).
Experience with cloud native AI/ML platforms (AWS preferred i.e., AWS SageMaker, AWS Forecast, AWS Bedrock etc.).
Experience in ideating, building, supporting, and monitoring data pipelines within the AWS Cloud.
Proficient in Python and SQL. Experience with Jupyter a plus.
Experience in DevOps tech stack in supporting CI/CD pipelines (including GitHub).
Strong communication and presentation skills.
Self-starter who can work independently as well as part of a cross-functional team.
Knowledge of BI concepts (i.e., ETL, dimensional modelling, data warehouse design, dashboarding).

Pay Transparency Disclosure: The base pay range offered for this position is $ 139,000-150,000 per year and other benefits. These figures represent what we reasonably expect to pay for this position, but the actual compensation offered will depend upon numerous job-related factors, including but not limited to candidate qualifications, skills, experience, education, location, and alignment with market data. Our expectation is that the incumbent will work out of our Napa location. If the incumbent works out of another location, the wage rate may fall above or below this range. Treasury reserves the right to modify the range in the future.
