Full job description
Duties/Responsibilities:
*
Develop and implement machine learning algorithms and statistical models for predictive modeling, and clinical decision support
*
Conduct data exploration, feature engineering, and data preprocessing to prepare data for analysis and modeling. Evaluate model performance and conduct validation tests to improve accuracy and relevance
*
Develop and execute advanced analytics initiatives end to end (e.g. predictive modeling, causal inference, experimentation design, NLP etc.)
*
Present insights and research to stakeholders, and build lasting partnerships to deliver solutions that positively impact our members and providers
*
Help us build responsible algorithms that are fair to our members and their communities
*
Balance handling ad hoc requests while also driving larger projects
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
Two (2) years of experience using data science tools like SQL, R or Python
Prior work or academic experience applying statistical and machine learning methods
Familiarity with cloud technologies
Continuous Learning Mindset
Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s degree in a quantitative field (e.g. Data Science, Math, Statistics etc.)

Strong problem-solving skills, critical thinking abilities, and capacity to approach complex healthcare challenges with innovative data-driven solutions
*
Advanced proficiency in writing complex SQL queries across large data sets
*
Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R and data manipulation libraries like pandas, Numpy
*
Knowledge of AWS or other cloud computing technologies
*
Expertise in statistics and experimentation design
*
Knowledge of or previous work experience in health care of health insurance
Hiring Range*:
*
Greater New York City Area (NY, NJ, CT residents): $106,300 - $153,595
*
All Other Locations (within approved locations): $97,000 - $144,330
As a candidate for this position, your salary and related elements of compensation will be contingent upon your work experience, education, licenses and certifications, and any other factors Healthfirst deems pertinent to the hiring decision.
