As a Data Scientist II on the Advanced Analytics team, you will have the opportunity to:
Scale positive business results through the use of big data, ML modeling, ad hoc analysis, and proactive consulting.
Improve business effectiveness and operational productivity.
Support academic success for our students through the applied use of advanced analytics, and help to identify, pilot and test initiatives for prospects, students, and faculty that drive improved academic outcomes and achievements.
Help educate business partners on new capabilities and identify insights to improve business results.
Cultivate strong business partnerships through understanding of business priorities and objectives and proactive consultation.
Guide and support less experienced data scientists.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Assemble and analyze large data sets from multiple sources. Preferably in a cloud-based infrastructure
Able to frame-up ad hoc analysis to address business objectives
Able to independently build and deploy enterprise grade Machine Learning models
Produce predictive model documentation and monitoring protocols
Presents findings from analyses, including insights and implications, to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Prepare and provide detailed and high-quality analytical reports and relevant insights to the larger organization that will assist in business decisions
Able to generate data visualizations, like PowerBI dashboards, to track key performance indicators (KPIs)
Able to identify opportunities and leverage predictive models to enhance business performance and boost productivity
Job Skills:
Proficient in SQL and at least one of the following programming languages (Python or R)
Experience using source control (e.g., GIT) and other team-based software engineering tools
Experience with the process of deploying ML models, including CI/CD, Airflow, and DAGs
Creative thinker and problem-solver who can effectively collaborate across teams and functions
A comprehensive understanding of Gen AI techniques and their applications
Ability to summarize and present information that provides insights and interest
Strong communication skills - both verbal and written
Work Experience:
3+ years in an analytics role with hands-on experience developing and deploying predictive models using machine learning techniques and conducting statistical analyses.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field like Data Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics or Econometrics required
Other:
Must be able to travel occasionally should a business need arise. For most roles travel would not be common. Travel may involve plane, car or metro. In accordance with ADA policies, reasonable accommodations regarding travel limitations can be provided. Travel will be more common for roles such as Account Executives (25 - 50%), senior leaders (10 – 20%) or Capella Core Faculty (5 – 10%).
Ability to work onsite in Corporate or Campus location (in a typical office environment) may be required based on role. If so, this would include being mobile within the office, including movement from floor-to-floor using elevators or stairs.
If offsite or hybrid role, must have access to work in setting which enables meeting all requirements of the role (including privacy, reliable internet access, phone, ability to video conference, etc.) at a remote location.
