Full Job Description Who we are: The Network Infrastructure Engineering team is responsible for helping Cisco customers maintain critical infrastructure networks that underpin data centers, backbone and POPs. In this role, you will be a customer facing domain expert working in a dynamic, agile environment, interacting with hyperscalers. We are seeking someone who will apply broad technical skills along with deep industry knowledge and business insight into our Network Infrastructure Team. You will guide our team in developing optimized technical solutions that promote our customers’ business strategy goals, including datacenter transformation, optimization, and network interconnects. Your unusual talents will join a group that is crafting outstanding customer value by providing cohesive and creative software, platforms and solutions for Cisco's core networking customers. Our customers are among the world's largest web scalers, Cloud companies, Service Providers and 5G Mobile networks. The selected candidate will be working and innovating on the greatest Network Processor silicon in the Tech Industry, SiIiconOne and Cisco 8000. With a strong blend of technical and interpersonal skills, the Network Infrastructure Engineer uses a consultative approach to understand business and technical requirements. What You'll do: Work directly with our customer as a domain expert working in a dynamic, agile environment, interacting with hyperscalers Use problem-solving creativity to design, architect, and develop high-end technology solutions that resolve our customers most complex and challenging problems Provide technical leadership throughout the design and deployment life cycle and focus on delivery of quality solutions Lead technical discussions and build consensus among engineers Develop deployment of automation using automation tools and scripts Write and review code documentation and capacity plans, and debug the hardest problems on the largest and most complex systems Analyze data to diagnose and identify root causes to network issues Partner with the best engineers in the industry on the coolest stuff around - the code, product and the network Who You'll Work With: As an integral member of our forward-facing team, you will work with peer teams within our CX engineering organization to design, develop and deliver best in class SaaS solutions. Additionally, working alongside Product Management, Operations and experience Design teams to build an outstanding customer experience for our high-scale customers, partners and delivery engineers. Every day and every interaction will be unique, but you will likely engage with a diverse representation of engineers, product owners, product managers, business units, IT and CX leadership. Who You Are: We’re looking for a combination of some of the following preferred qualifications, all are not required: Bachelor’s degree in CS/EE/EC or technical equivalent 12+ years of experience in network engineering or network-centric software Specialization working directly with customers as a domain expert Proven experience working in a dynamic, agile environment, interacting with hyperscalers In-depth knowledge and in expertise with C, C++, Python, Go, etc Expertise with routing protocols like BGP, OSPF, ISIS - functionality and optimizations Specialized knowledge & expertise in developing and understanding Router/Switch configuration In-depth experience writing code to automate Network deployments, monitoring or remediation Field experience with network deployments Advanced proficiency in configuration and maintenance of network devices and NMS systems, or applications such as authentication servers (RADIUS/TACACS), logging infrastructure or collection systems (SNMP/NETCONF/gNM, gRIBI, SWAN) Proficiency in open source technologies like SONIC and FRR stack is an added benefit Why Cisco? #WeAreCisco. For non-sales roles the hiring ranges reflect base salary only; employees are also eligible to receive annual bonuses. Hiring ranges for sales positions include base and incentive compensation target. Individual pay is determined by the candidate's hiring location and additional factors, including but not limited to skillset, experience, and relevant education, certifications, or training. U.S. employees have access to quality medical, dental and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan with a Cisco matching contribution, short and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance and numerous wellbeing offerings. Employees receive up to twelve paid holidays per calendar year, which includes one floating holiday, plus a day off for their birthday. Employees on sales plans earn performance-based incentive pay on top of their base salary, which is split between quota and non-quota components. For quota-based incentive pay, Cisco pays at the standard rate of 1% of incentive target for each 1% revenue attainment against the quota up to 100%. Once performance exceeds 100% quota attainment, incentive rates may increase up to five times the standard rate with no cap on incentive compensation. For non-quota-based sales performance elements such as strategic sales objectives, Cisco may pay up to 125% of target. Cisco sales plans do not have a minimum threshold of performance for sales incentive compensation to be paid.
