Full Job Description Minimum qualifications: Experience with network infrastructure, rack and stack, device commissioning, and quality acceptance control. Experience planning and leading network deployments and creating deployment packages and MOPs. Experience planning and coordinating with field operation technicians, engineers, contractors, or vendors in a telecommunications working environment. Preferred qualifications: Experience with managing or directing Field Operation Technicians, Engineers, Contractors, and/or Vendors in a Telco working environment. Experience in telecommunications at carrier class scale, working with large optical network infrastructure, transmission systems, layer 2/3 routers, and data services. Strong understanding of key networking protocols (e.g., MPLS, BGP, ISIS, and SDN concepts). Ability to script/program. You will work with Network Architects and Engineers, Design Engineers, Infrastructure Engineers, Field Engineers, Strategic Negotiators, and Technical Project Managers within Google, as well as construction and telecommunications vendors and contractors, to position the assigned metro area for success. Responsibilities Oversee vendor technicians for rack, stack, and installation of networking equipment. Commission, test, and turn up network devices and optical transport equipment in new and existing network nodes across Google's global network. Work with neutral co-location providers, infrastructure engineering, and the Google Security team to ensure the health and safety environment for all who perform work on Google’s behalf. Generate and update documentation and implementation plans (DPKs) while providing technical leadership and guidance during deployment activities. Update and maintain network data, drawings, rack elevations, and floor plans. Work closely with Project Management, Network Engineering, and partner teams to identify in advance potential problems in network installations, including in the areas of facility power (AC/DC), cooling, security/access, rack layout, and cable management.
