Full Job Description Who are we hiring? This position will work on projects across the Splunk platform to develop and enhance digital visualization of MSG processes across the Enterprise. In this role, the Developer will work in a consultative manner in a matrix environment to gather and understand business requirements of internal customers, direct external/third party development resources, and design and develop business solutions. Some independent projects include data ingestion design and automation, systems integration, technical design, dashboarding, and business intelligence. What will you do? Provide overall engineering and design support for a cloud Splunk environment consisting of heavy forwarders, indexers, and search head servers, spanning performance and operational roles Onboard data to Splunk via forwarder, scripted inputs, TCP/UDP, and modular inputs from sources such as Azure, AWS, Blue Cat, Cisco, Palo Alto, syslog, etc. Splunk server configurations (web, indexing retention, authentication) Maintenance of current state for all work streams, including continual improvement of processes and technology to improve existing or add new functionality Evaluate efficiencies of technology upgrades and apply as needed Design, develop and implement Data Integrations and dashboards in Splunk Engage with avenues of influence (Splunk product managers, user groups) to align platform capabilities with business requirements What do you need to succeed? 5+ years of experience designing and implementing large scale, enterprise implementations 2-3 years of experience installing and maintaining a medium to large Splunk implementation Experience with Splunk Cloud, Federated Search and IT service Intelligence (ITSI) Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment Requires an extensive knowledge of application or infrastructure systems architecture, usually having experience with multiple system technologies Expertise in various programing languages like Python, XML, CSS and JavaScript Current Splunk Enterprise Certified Admin certification Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering or a related field and/or minimum 7 years of experience in system administration, database administration, network engineering, software engineering, or software development SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE JOB: Candidate selected may have to travel several times throughout the year to other business locations.
