Experience with e-commerce and retail research. Ability to navigate external data sources, articulate hypotheses, build models, and synthesize findings into business implications. About the job Product and Business Strategy Leaders bring together teams across Google’s functions to help products execute optimally. Our team pushes Google to scale at key points that refine our products and infrastructure by executing efficiently, bringing solid business sense and sound judgment, and working effectively across organizational lines. Our roles often include components of strategy (e.g. analyzing and understanding new trends in the industry, building business plans), operations (e.g. running the cadence of organizations, connecting the operating lines between our functions), and communications. Our team partners with senior leadership to run important functions that cross-cut our existing organizations and deliver high impact projects. We help Engineers, PMs, UX, and all of our other functions to build amazing products that delight our users, and then get those products into their hands. As a part of the Commerce Strategy and Business Operations (SBO) team, you will have a unique role within the Commerce organization. You will work directly with cross-functional teams to guide and inform critical business decisions and investments. In this role, you will use data-backed analysis to generate new insights and identify business and growth opportunities that match changing market trends. You'll also focus on ensuring that existing business performance is tracking against goals, key metrics, and industry standards. You will provide critical guidance and thought leadership to executive stakeholders. You will be a part of a team that’s tasked with solving complex and strategic business problems. You'll be responsible for identifying and analyzing the most important business trends and strategic questions and translating those recommendations into actionable plans. Responsibilities Lead research, analysis, and narrative of industry trends across the e-commerce ecosystem. Synthesize data/research findings into compelling and strategic insights that will transform thinking and inform product strategy decisions/roadmaps. Lead the creation of deep-dive decks and papers for highly strategic areas and present those findings to executive leadership. Partner cross-functionally with product, finance, data science, and other teams on a variety of growth-focused projects Partner with strategy team counterparts to draw connections between products, external ecosystem trends, and shifting user preferences.
