The Digital Citizenship Technology group at Walmart focuses on managing and delivering world-class products, driving policy compliance, creating partnerships, and developing pipelines and self-service tools so that we can earn customers’ and associates’ trust.
Our team sits on The Digital Citizenship Group and creates tools and compelling digital experiences for customers, whether at home, in the store, or on the go. We develop tools that enable consumers to act upon their Privacy rights at Walmart, Sam’s Club, Flipkart, and other acquisition Brands globally.
As a Senior Front-End Software Engineer you will be building a key technology that powers our privacy initiatives at Walmart. You will work on everything from customer-facing web applications using cutting-edge open-source frameworks, to highly-available RESTful cloud services, to back-end systems powered by rest API and Microsoft cloud.
You’ll Make an Impact by:
Building a highly scalable and performant privacy frontend platform
Designing and developing new innovative features on our current platform
Transitioning an existing platform to micro-app architecture using next-gen technologies
Partner and collaborate with various stakeholders to:
Identify priorities- technical and functional needs of the system
Develop innovative customer experiences and user interfaces
Find the best solutions for different permutations and create educational material for the consumers of the components and shared services
Ensure implementation success of all features and integrated end-to-end design and delivery.
Develop and maintain a suite of complex application UI component library distributions in React and other emerging technologies
Create features that are scalable, accessible, and renders effectively across multiple browsers, operating systems, and device types (Desktop, Mobile, Tablet, etc.)
Ideate on and create platform tooling that improves our process and/or improves the developer experience for consumers
Leverage DevOps practices for CI/CD including performance tuning and deep monitoring of applications
You'll sweep us off our feet if:
You have at least 5 years of hands-on software engineering experience
You are proficient in React or Angular or EmberJS
You have a solid understanding of building RESTful APIs.
Previous experience with Node.js and Java is a must
Additional preferred qualifications:
2+ years of experience in Agile practices
1+ years of Experience with AWS, GCP, Microsoft Azure, or another public cloud service
1+ years of Experience working on streaming data applications (e.g. Kafka, Kinesis, Flink, or Spark Streaming)
4+ years of Experience in open source frameworks
Solid Experience in developing scalable Event driven applications.
6-8 years of software development experience working in one of the following: Scala, Ruby on Rails, Python
