Job Purpose

The Seaware Information Technology Administrator is responsible for the execution and oversight of all technical areas as it pertains to the company’s Seaware software operations and support. This position will work closely with corporate management, division management, reservation agents and the company’s outside Seaware software provider (Versonix) on all matters and will assist in ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements and standards. This position will serve as a technical specialist to maintain and administer the Seaware software systems.

Duties - Responsibilities

  • Strong technical understanding of Seaware software technologies and application components with ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Deliver consistent service, interface with the company’s outside Seaware software provider and ensure business continuance.
  • Provide basic Seaware administrative and technical support in-house; outsource larger issues to the company’s outside Seaware software provider.
  • Assist in the design and implementation of Seaware software management and administrative policies, standards and procedures.
  • Establish/Maintain the Seaware planning process, architecture, and standards including interfacing into MXP.
  • Establish/Maintain/Enforce the Seaware security administrative procedures.
  • Work with, and coordinate with, the company’s outside Seaware software provider to ensure user requests for assistance are responded to in a timely fashion and ensure satisfaction; serve as company coordinator of all new user set up requests into Seaware application.
  • Work with management and outside Seaware software provider to define technical requirements that reflect desired business processes.
  • Provide input to management in developing the annual IT budget.
  • Identify and diagnose data quality or system deficiency issues, provide options, recommendations and action plans for resolution; coordinate company decisions with outside Seaware software provider to ensure action occurs and is completed.
  • Develop key relationships with all users and outside Seaware software provider; develop a deep understanding of key business processes.
  • Contribute leadership to the successful implementation of Seaware involved projects, as well as ongoing releases.

Minimum Qualifications - Requirements

  • Education:
    • HS Diploma or Equivalent Required
    • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Computer Science or other similar field required
    • Ongoing professional experience/development and training in Seaware software required via seminars, online classes/training and/or professional networking and certifications
  • Skills - Abilities:
    • Previous experience with Seaware software mandatory
    • Previous experience with MXP software preferred but not mandatory
    • Previous experience with Oracle DBA activities preferred but not mandatory
    • Must be a proactive thinker and constantly think ahead to better serve employees
    • Must be willing to accept changes of direction in work and priorities with a positive attitude
    • Advanced Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook skills desired
    • Prior experience with MXP software a plus
    • Prior experience with Oracle DBA activities a plus
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Proven track record of working successfully in a team environment
    • Ability to multi-task, i.e. manage multiple priorities with similar deadlines
    • Ability to work with a sense of urgency and efficiency
    • Ability to work in fast-paced, quickly-changing environment
    • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
    • Must be detail-oriented and extremely organized
    • Proven planning, organization, financial, and project management skills.

  • Experience:
    • 5+ years’ experience Seaware software configuration/administration
    • MXP software experience preferred.
    • Oracle DBA activities experience preferred
    • Travel/tourism, hospitality and/or cruise industry experience preferred
  • Other:
    • Must be at least 21 years of age.
    • Submit to and pass alcohol and drug tests including but not limited to pre-employment, random, reasonable suspicion and post-accident/incident testing.

Working Conditions:

Office environment; elevator and stairs available. Work is administrative in nature.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit at a desk for extended periods of time
  • Ability to stand and walk frequently
  • Ability to bend, rotate and reach frequently
  • Ability to carry, push/pull and/or lift materials weighing up to 35-40 lbs
  • Ascending/descending stairs safely
  • Ability to manipulate/handle/grip materials required to perform job
