Position Overview

Reporting directly to the Executive Vice-President of the Operations Division, you will support the airports strategic commitment to providing for a seamless end-to-end customer journey through the development and operation of the new Integrated Operations Center (IOC) set for completion in 2020. You will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of key performance indicators that provide a basis for delivery of best-in-class operational efficiency and an enhanced customer experience through real-time situational awareness and proactive process improvements.

This position requires a deep understanding of leadership, influence, vision, and a high level of strategic thinking. As the Vice-President with eventual oversight of more than 180 employees and industry partners, you will play a key role in critical projects that will require collaboration and influence with internal and external stakeholders as well as proactive and transparent communication with multiple business units.

If you’re ready to push yourself and your career to new levels, you should consider this great opportunity at DFW International Airport—where we’re re-imagining what an airport can be.

What we will ask of you:

  • Provide strategic direction, planning, and coordination of all day-to-day activities and representatives assigned to the Integrated Operations Center (IOC).
  • Effectively leverage digital trends and predictive analytics to provide a deeper understanding of the Airports performance in key areas of operations and customer experience. Develop plans to capitalize on analytical outcomes and address identified gaps in performance.

  • Ensure transparent coordination and collaborative decision-making among all the disciplines located within the IOC to ensure the airport proactively identifies and responds to relevant local, regional, and global trends and events.

  • Identify and implement analytics to measure essential key performance indicators and develop cross-functional action plans. Disseminate timely reporting and analysis to provide internal and external stakeholders with actionable information to enhance operations and customer service.

  • Coordinate with the Office of Emergency Management to ensure readiness and activation of the Emergency Operations Center as operational conditions warrant.

  • Partner with multiple internal business leaders and external stakeholders such as the airlines, TSA, FAA, and CBP to ensure key objectives are understood, supported, and are effectively measuring the performance of the IOC. Champion regular communication and interaction to demonstrate the strategic value of the IOC.

What we require of you:

  • Bachelor’s degree in aviation management, business or public administration, or a related field.

  • Seven (7) years of increasingly responsible experience leading process improvements or transformative change.

  • Five (5) years of formal management or leadership experience recruiting, training, and administering performance management and discipline.

  • Any equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be substituted for the above.

  • Possession of a valid Class C driver’s license.

What we desire of you:

  • Master’s degree in aviation management or a related field.

  • Prior airline industry and/or airport operations/management experience, preferably at a major commercial airport

  • Prior supervisory or leadership experience at a network operations center, integrated operations center, or large-scale public safety communications center that has deployed modern digital systems designed to drive process efficiency.

  • Relevant process management education or certifications (Lean Six Sigma, etc)

  • Mentor others to enhance performance and create the right condition for people to give their best each day

  • Make good decisions based on analysis, wisdom and experience
