The opportunity We are seeking a leader who will orchestrate the development of the Adobe’s commerce platform which powers the massive and fast-growing subscription business for the company across all customer types and channels. This person will drive the global engineering and architectural efforts for building the commerce and administration platforms that offer innovative experiences to all Adobe customers. Offer thought leadership around commerce capabilities, product led growth, payment processing and global operations for a sophisticated portfolio of our offerings. Be the driver for exceptional commerce and administrative experiences and find opportunities to collaborate between high level business strategy and technology infrastructure, to further enable the business to scale. Develop and lead a globally dispersed team of senior scientists, software engineers and developers, architects, QA, and work in a tight partnership with product management. Focus areas will include scalable and resilient cloud architecture, engineering operations, security and performance. Be an operational and technical leader with a passion for commerce infrastructure, sophisticated interconnect with business and financial reporting systems, leading diverse business needs and responding with agility and running an engineering organization that drives continuous improvement and scale. What you'll do Work across the executive team to deliver on business goals and build tight collaboration and coordination between teams. Work closely with the product and program teams to drive customer satisfaction and deliver outstanding products and services to the market. Set and drive delivery roadmaps; at an enterprise level of quality and a consumer level of engagement. Focus on continuous improvement in processes and quality, while paying attention to the experiences. Be an evangelist for the platform approach. Help drive the subject area around driving long-term architectural investments in lasting patterns, while delivering short-term business results with material impact on Adobe’s recurring revenues. Be a passionate driver for building capabilities that address today’s problems while setting up to scale for tomorrow’s needs. Create an engineering culture that supports innovation and creativity while delivering high volume of product in a predictable and reliable way. Ensure engineering excellence and rigor in architecture, execution and delivery. Mentor leaders across the organization in leadership, management, and engineering standard methodologies. Be a beacon of leadership not only for your team, but cross-functionally across the company. Initiate and deliver leadership training within the engineering organization, including training new managers, and drive the growth of leaders to create a strong leadership bench. What you need to succeed Bring expertise with leading the architecture, development and delivery of a cloud-based platform & commerce-focused services ecosystem within a high growth, global, matrixed environment. Validated technical competence in engineering, architecture and product development. A very keen eye for exceptional customer experiences and an inherent bent towards leaning in and action-orientation. Strong hands-on technology experience building and running large scale systems handling multi-million sessions/transactions per day. Shown success leading and developing a distributed, multi-functional engineering organization in excess of 400 people across a large, globally dispersed organization.
